International orientation, a practical approach and an integrative view have characterised the education at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) since its foundation in 1898. Today HSG educates approximately 6,700 students from 80 nations in Economics, Law and Social Sciences, as well as in International Relations. HSG is one of Europe’s leading business universities.
Furthermore, HSG is a place of the arts. The campus of the University of St. Gallen is home to numerous outstanding pieces of art (Arp, Richter, Giacometti, Miró), which are waiting to be discovered. These pieces of art are integrated into the architecture and the daily student life. Almost all works were created specifically for their respective location by the artists, and were not installed retrospectively. This creates a dialogue between art and culture, which is present in every university building.
