Wild Ravine and Romantic Swimming Ponds

Up and down and all around

The wild and romantic Mühlenen Ravine is where the city really came into being. According to legend, St.Gallus, the patron saint of St.Gallen, fell into a thorn bush here. During this city walk, you will climb through the Mühlenen Ravine and up to the “Drei Weieren” ponds, an oasis of calm in the midst of the city. The ponds and their art nouveau bathhouses have a story of their own to tell and are a popular excursion destination, in addition to being a well-visited open-air swimming spot during the summer months.
