In the Bannriet nature reserve you can discover a peat-cutting landscape with a distinctive character. In the Schollenmühle, the former peat factory, you can learn about the peat extraction and the nature of the area. The information centre accommodates an exhibition that is open to the public at all times. Two observation huts and an underwater cube facilitate tranquil observations of nature.
The observation tower offers you a far-reaching view over the Rhine Valley floor and of the mountain panorama. The tower and the Schollenmühle are situated on an 8 km circular track; motor vehicles are banned from this wider area. Information cubes along the walking and cycle track point out the smaller and larger places of interest.
