The congress and meeting centre located high above Lake Constance - the watcher at the lake - is witness to a moving constructional past.
Its current appearance is strongly influenced by its earlier owners and their social relationships. This especially refers to the Blarer von Wartensee family, who, as owners of the castle from 1377 to 1719, remodelled the castle into a three party residence, as well as the English composer Robert Lucas Pearsall de Willsbridge, whose son renovated the castle, from 1843 to 1853, into its modern appearance as a representative neo-gothic style castle.
In 1984, the castle passed into the possession of the evangelical church of the Canton of St.Gallen. It generously renovated the building into a congress and meeting centre to match the needs of the community in the years 1994-1996 and then passed the administration of the building into the hands of a foundation.
