Annual Exhibition at the Stiftsbibliothek St.Gallen

In the beginning was the Word. The Bible in the Abbey of St. Gallen.

Manuscripts from the 5th to the 18th century are exhibited as well as prints from the 15th to the 19th century that demonstrate that the Stiftsbibliothek is an important place for Bible manuscripts. Amongst other, also Bible illustrations, Bible texts in languages other than Latin, Bible comments and - reworks from the High Middle Ages - and Late Middle Ages as well as various Bible prints are exhibited here.
