Lapidarium

The Lapidarium (from the Latin “lapis” for stone) is located in a Baroque vaulted cellar. Carolingian-Ottonian, Gothic and early Baroque architectural sculptures from the St.Gallen Abbey are displayed here. The 1,000-year history of the abbey is made tangible before your very eyes. The vivid “Culture at St.Gallen Abbey” display panel complements the current exhibitions of the Abbey Library.
