Rorschach is an important harbour city on Lake Constance and is known as a mecca for cyclists and inline skaters. Rorschach received market rights in 947 and during the Middle Ages, it became the most significant trade centre on the southern shoreline. The stately homes in the lively city centre bear witness to this past, as does the Kornhaus, Rorschach’s landmark and the most beautiful granary in Switzerland. Today, the picturesque harbour city with a Mediterranean flair attracts guests from all over the world with large-scale events, such as the international Sand Sculpture Festival and the Celtic Days annual festival.
