Accessibility in the St.Gallen Region

For an inclusive future

In cooperation with our partners, we are working to make tourism in the St.Gallen-Lake Constance region and Eastern Switzerland accessible to everyone. Here, people with specific accessibility needs can find information about the accessibility of hotels, restaurants, museums and destinations, as well as additional useful information to help plan a visit to Eastern Switzerland in advance.

We would also be delighted to advise you on the phone (+71 227 37 37) or in person during our opening hours.

Your handy everyday guides

The OK:GO initiative supports tourism providers in Switzerland to collect and publish information on the accessibility of their offers and services. The “ParaMap” from the Swiss Paraplegics Association provides information about disabled parking spaces, and the WC Guide provides information about the nearest wheelchair-accessible toilet.

You can hire mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walking sticks or rollators/walkers at Spiess + Kühne in St.Gallen or Naropa Reha in Staad.

It is important to Verkehrsbetriebe St.Gallen (St.Gallen Public Transport) that people with reduced mobility and those with pushchairs can negotiate the St.Gallen bus network safely and independently.

Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) also takes steps to simplify travel for people with reduced mobility. You can find all the relevant information on the SBB website.

Immerse yourself in history!

Our popular city tours show you the best of the St.Gallen-Lake Constance region. All of the classic tours of the old town in St.Gallen, both the open tours and those that can be booked individually, are accessible to wheelchair users and people with pushchairs. If you have a hearing or visual impairment or are interested in the themed tours, please get in touch with our city tour team directly at tours@st.gallen-bodensee.ch.
